The Elephant in the Box: A Candid Note on Shipping

At Republican Red, we’ve always believed that the best conversations happen around a dinner table with a shared bottle of wine. Our mission has been to bring important conversations about the future of our country back into the heart of the home—encouraging the kind of bold, honest dialogue that builds bridges instead of walls.

In the spirit of that same transparency, we want to address something that affects every bottle we send your way: shipping.

The Reality of the Journey

There is a growing disconnect in the modern world between what it actually costs to move a heavy, fragile, temperature-sensitive glass bottle across the country and the "free shipping" expectations that Amazon has made us accustomed to.

For a winery like ours, shipping isn't just a stamp on a box. Because we are delivering alcohol, every package requires a mandatory adult signature to ensure it ends up in the right hands. We also invest in premium, made-in-the-USA packaging to ensure that your wine arrives to you in good condition, whether that is down the road or in the farthest corners of our beautiful country.

Recently, carrier rates and fuel surcharges have made the cost of that journey significantly steeper. To keep our business sustainable while maintaining the premium quality you expect, we are updating our shipping structure effective immediately.

Our New Shipping Tiers

We’ve designed this new logic to be simple and to reward those who help us ship more efficiently:

  • 1–3 Bottles: $18 flat rate

  • 4–5 Bottles: $9 flat rate

  • 6+ Bottles: FREE Shipping

Why 6 Bottles is the "Sweet Spot"

The truth is, most of our community already orders six bottles or more. From a sustainability and business perspective, shipping a half-case is much more efficient than sending one or two bottles at a time. By moving to this model, we can continue to offer free shipping to the vast majority of our customers while covering the baseline costs for smaller shipments.

A Note for Our Inner Circle

If you find yourself reaching for a corkscrew often, our Wine Club remains the best way to enjoy Republican Red. Not only do members receive priority access and exclusive deals, they enjoy our only significant discounts—10% off for the 3-bottle tier, 15% off (+ free shipping) for the 6-bottle tier and 20% off (+ free shipping) for the 12-bottle tier. It’s our way of saying thank you for being a foundational part of our community.

Connection Over Conflict

We know that "shipping talk" isn't nearly as exciting as discussing the notes of our latest Cabernet or debating the topics of the day. However, we believe that being direct about the mechanics of our business is the only way to maintain the trust we’ve built with you.

We aren’t here to "whine" about the logistics; instead, our intention is to ensure that Republican Red remains a fixture at your table for years to come. Thank you for supporting a small winery that values big conversations. We can’t wait to see what’s in your next box.

Onward and Upward,
