I Recently Sat Down with Newsmax to Talk About Republican Red Winery and The 1776 Collection
Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to sit down for a few interviews to talk about Republican Red Winery, why we started this company, our unique business model, and our biggest launch of the year, The 1776 Collection.
I joined Rick Leventhal on Newsmax 2 for a conversation about wine, entrepreneurship, American-made products, and what it means to build a company that actually stands for something.

As we get closer to America’s 250th birthday on July 4th, I find myself reflecting more and more on why we created The 1776 Collection in the first place. It wasn’t about just sticking patriotic labels on bottles and calling it a day.
We wanted to create something meaningful; something that honored the spirit of the fearless, steadfast, resolute, and selfless patriots that came before us. I wanted to capture the visionaries of the past but put a modern finish on the labels that show the craftsmanship still celebrated today. I believe the spirit of the American patriot is still alive and well today.
I meet modern day patriots often. They have a lot to say, and so do our labels. Our labels such as Epic Fury and Midnight Hammer magnums recognize our military’s ability to execute with precision and represent peace through strength. Our 45-47 Collection was created honoring President Donald J. Trump for his ability to get shit done.
We’ve made the deliberate decision when we started this journey in 2020 to create labels that are interesting, and at times, a bit controversial. Not for the sake of noise, but to spark conversation and because dialogue matters. It is through conversation, and sometimes even heated debate, that people come together and share ideas and even solve problems.
It’s not always easy these days. People disagree and are divided. Tensions run high. But I still believe great things can happen when people are willing to sit down together, share a bottle of wine, and simply talk.
We have created many limited releases over the past few years. The 1776 Collection is our latest release, and honestly, celebrating America’s 250th birthday shouldn’t be controversial.
Five of the reserve wines come from the historic Massa Vineyard in Carmel Valley, California, and they are featured with our award-winning America’s 250th Anniversary Sparkling Wine that recently won Best of Show and Platinum at the 2026 Monterey International Wine Competition. Every bottle was crafted with pride and intention. And each label tells part of the American story.

Some represent unity. Others represent courage, sacrifice, independence, or celebration. Together, they’re meant to mark a historic moment in our country and create something worth sharing around the table with family and friends.
One thing I’ve appreciated during all of these interviews lately is seeing how many people connect with the idea behind the brand.
At the end of the day, this business has always been about more than wine.
It’s about building something on your own terms. Supporting American vineyards and American craftsmanship. Standing behind what with meaning behind them.
I am honored to be called a trailblazer at times by others, but the true trailblazers helped us win our independence and define our freedoms. Although, given today’s contentious environment, I am hoping there are more trailblazers to come. We need people to stand up and be fearless, selfless, and push for some of the same things that our forefathers believed were possible: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, the right to bear arms, freedom of speech, as well as the American Dream that Ronald Reagan believed should be possible for every American.
I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported Republican Red Winery and The 1776 Collection so far. We truly wouldn’t be here without our wine community.
As America approaches its 250th birthday, I hope these wines become part of your celebrations, your gatherings, and your conversations in the months ahead.
