Paul Johnson on Fox News Nightcap | Woke Retailers Refuse to Carry Republican Red
After my interview with Trace Gallagher on Fox News, the conversation continued during the “Nightcap” segment as Trace Gallagher, Fox contributors, and guests weighed in on the growing national discussion surrounding Republican Red Winery and some of the challenges brands like ours face in today’s retail environment.
The panel discussed the reaction to our conservative wine brand, including the reality that some woke retailers have refused to carry our products simply because of the brand name, certain bottle labels, and the values our winery stands for, while continuing to sell products and brands that openly promote liberal viewpoints.
The original interview touched on this topic but focused more on the story behind Republican Red Winery and the launch of The 1776 Collection honoring America’s 250th Birthday. This follow-up conversation was a quick, opinion-based take on the broader cultural discussion surrounding our winery and many American businesses today.
At the end of the day, we’ve always believed wine should bring people together around the table and spark conversation, even when people don’t always agree. We refused to water down our messaging and instead proudly stand behind our products and what we have built.
